This vintage Mexican bangle bracelet is unbelievably easy to wear. The buckle actually works: You simply lift it, slide the other side in and lower the buckle's latch into one of four holes. It adjusts to fit just about any wrist perfectly (up to about 7 inches). Of hallmarked sterling silver, the jewel is beautifully detailed - accented by the curvy buckle of vermeil or gilt brass, plus two jazzy inlaid stripes of dark blue lapis lazuli. Also indicative of quality, a maker's mark is present. Unfortunately we haven't been able to decipher it; a TC is visible, along with intelligible numbers and the abbreviation MEX for Mexico. Probable dating is late in the Art Deco/early Moderne era, when many of the most exciting jewelry designs were of Mexican origin. These have been eagerly collected for years and are even more popular today. Provenance is a New York estate. Please e-mail to confirm availability, order or request more photos.
