First Ed. SUMMER FRUIT Cookbook, Prize-Winning Series

"Summer Fruit: A Country Garden Cookbook" by Edon Waycott, 1995 First Edition.

This is practically an art book, it's so lovely! No wonder Collins Publishers won awards for the series it came from. Besides offering lots of luscious summertime recipes, the volume is lavishly illustrated with photos so evocative of the season that you'll dream over them in the cold of winter.

As you'd expect, there are recipes for sweets, salads, drinks and jams, but those are amplified by many fascinating main dishes and appetizers -- all featuring sophisticated flavors, but generally quite easy to make. How about starting with a Plum Rum Fizz, some spicy pita chips and fruit salsa? Then you might savor a peach and ginger chicken stir-fry or perhaps sauteed shrimp sauced with gingered apricots. But save room for cobbler, ice cream, sorbet or maybe a cherry and ganache tart in a crunchy crust of ground walnuts with cinnamon.

You'll find plenty of inspiration for delicious and healthy summer meals in these 95 gorgeous pages created by Edon Waycott and photographer Kathryn Kleinman. Also included is a very useful illustrated glossary of more than 20 varieties of stone fruit, with tips on selecting, storing, preparing and preserving them.

The book measures 8 5/8" x 9 1/4" and is almost like new -- showing only minor wear to the dust jacket, which matches the pictorial cover inside. The endpapers are printed in full color, too.

There's no charge for insured U.S. shipping and gift-wrap is always free when desired. Please e-mail erinharris@comcast.net to confirm availability, order or request more photos. Thanks for looking!
