Two pretty vases by Samson, in the Famille rose palette, imitating the style of Chinese export porcelain of the mid-18th century, the Qianlong period. The two have been used as a pair, even though the gilt borders are not quite identical. Both marked with an over-glaze pseudo-Chinese mark in iron red, typical of Samson. Height: "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: minimal nick to underside of foot rim to one vase, otherwise fine.

Jar and cover by Samson of Paris, late 19th c. Powder blue glaze, with reserves decorated in Famille verte palette, all in the late 17th c style of the Kangxi period. Height, with the lid: "6 ¼ / 16 cm. Unmarked. Condition : the jar is in several pieces, in obvious need of restoration, the lid comparably well preserved with only one piece missing from the rim.

The background is off-white, in order to enhance the features of the slip glaze. The back with a mock Sèvres (!) mark, crossed "L"s. Width: "9/ 22,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Beautiful dish with a landscape and cottages in Famille rose colours and gold within a diaper border in pale turquoise. Early Qianlong, first half of the 18th century. Diam. "9 ¾ / 24,8 cm and height "1 ½ / 4 cm. Condition: a piece has been reglued and there are two hairlines.

Ulysse Cantagalli, Florence, drew his inspiration from Arts and Crafts designers like William de Morgan, from Italian Renaissance and Islamic ceramics. Marked with the singing cockerel of the Cantagalli factory. Diam: "5 ¼ / 13 cm and height: "2 ¼ / 5,5 cm. Condition: fine.
