Elegant English cache-pot, decoration of classical groups and grapes vines against a dark copper luster background, the upper rim in puce over shell-shaped fake ring handles. Around 1830. Height: "3 ¾ /10 cm. Condition: some crazing and loss to the smallest reliefs as seen in photos.

English blue and white transfer printed plate by Clews, Staffordshire, c 1820. Clews (1818-1834) produced patterns with American motifs, for the American market. This pattern, however, is of a guide, demonstrating Italian classical ruins to a lady traveller who is seated on a donkey, all viewed as from inside a grotto, and in a soft blue shade.
