| Four cups and saucers, sugar bowl and creamer - part of an English Art Déco Carlton Ware coffee service by Wiltshaw & Robinson, 1920's (mark for 1897 - 1927). Probably designed by Enoch Boulton, this pattern with number 2922 is called Sunrise - perhaps an allusion to the land of the rising sun, Japan, and the Satsuma-like style of the lavish decoration in gilt, yellow and black. Height of cups: "2 ¼ / 6 cm, of creamer: "3 ¼ / 8 cm. Condition: hairline to one cup, small foot-rim restoration to another as seen in photo. | ||
