Wonderful Cameroon Grassland Stool of the Bamileke People of south-west Cameroon. The Elephant was a royal symbol to the Bamileke People, so this object probably was owned by someone of importance. Indigenous caulk at the edge of the stool(throne). Solid. Very Good Condition. Purchased from the Collection of Gene Shreve, Professor of Law, Indiana University, Bloomington Indiana. Probably made prior to 1930.
