Magnificent and bold silver necklace is curvilinear throughout with typical Margot style. The central section can be interpreted as an abstract bow or butterfly. A leading authority on Mexican Silver believes this to be a piece created for a competition by Margot. The necklace changes form in unique ways. The centerpiece, or bow section, can be separated and worn as a large brooch. (Image 2) In Georgian and Victorian periods, such a piece was known as an stomacher and was fastened above the waist. This same centerpiece, if separated once again, becomes two fluid brooches to be worn as imagination sees them. (image 3) The entire necklace may be fitted for wear just below the neck or lower on the chest by adding or subtracting links provided. This is a one of a kind example of the silver art of Mexico in its time of high creativity. A memorandum by Penny Morrill about this piece is included with the sale.

Sterling silver cuffs,1 1/2 inches wide, are florid enough to make a show of themselves separately though they can be purchased as a pair for the drama of wearing one on each wrist. Paisley forms made of fronds, and abstract flowers cover the entire front of each cuff. The backs are shining and clean. The engraver had fun designing artfully. The fronds are outlined in a sawtoothed line. Areas between them are tightly cross hatched. There are exclamations of brush strokes for emphasis. As you can see in the clasp photo, one presses on a ridged oval to open the bracelet which has a hearty click when locked closed. There is a slight variation in the two cuffs, not in the paisley which is exact, but in some details of the engraving. The saw toothed frond outlines are the same. The cross hatching is not. One cuff has a ribbon of engraving along the front top and bottom. If you are lost in my detailed description, I'll make it simple. The cuffs are great looking and desirable. Will fit most medium to medium plus wrists Price for each is $ 975 which if bought as a pair becomes $950 each. c.1950

A striking cuff bracelet hand made in silver that is hammered all around, dimpling the surface. The bracelet has been hand executed by the artist. It is unique in the curve and slope of the cuff. Heart shaped when seen from above, it is apparent that the cuff is broad on the back and sides and then slopes gracefully to narrower at the hinge and clasp. Both back and front are duplicates of the other, therefore, if the bracelet turns on the wrist, no matter. Both sides are equal. Only the clasp differentiates the true front from the hinged back. A narrow gold band encircles the middle and centers the eye to the details. The clasp is hardy and secure. Fits a medium wrist with room to spare for a sweater underneath in winter. Measured on a 6 inch wrist. Can easily accomodate a 6 1/2 in. wrist. Height at broadest is 2 1/2 inches. It narrows to 1 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. Made by Grosse
