A vine dances around a beautifully engraved double love band of two hands joined. A third hand, at the top, locks the two together. Slide the double band apart by separating the clasped fingers and the ring reveals a semi circle of tightly woven hair, so tight that is appears professionally worked. This is not a memorial ring as there is no birth or death indicated. It is a memory of devoted people. Rings such as this often note the devotion of promised lovers. There are families in which the male addresses his wife as mama or mother when the family includes children. This ring is engraved with the words "Mamma to Chas '98. Mamma is the Italian spelling of mama and therefore the attribution to Italy as the nation of origin in addition to the 10kt gold content. This is a beautiful band that carries a secret as if it were a piuzzle ring. The condition is superb. Size 9

Trimmed in a regal 18kt gold pronged frame, five pure rock crystal prisms gleam like the north star on a clear winter's evening. When looking at crystal, realize and imagine that the body brings out ten times the beauty of a photograph. The decorative braided gold and the gothic prongs around the crystals resemble the gothic form of wrought iron gates that surround a church yard. A circle of braided gold connects all limbs of the cross in a celtic pattern. Circle crosses are associated with celtic tradition and were adopted by scandanavian sculptors for use as decorative monuments. The symbolism of the circle is unity, the trinity and the sun. With its significance as a great symbol of the Christian faith, this cross is a celebratory and decorative form . The height is 2 3/4 inches. The width is a tad short of 1 1/2 inches. The condition is excellent.

Mighty oaks from little acorns grow." This is right as rain. With rain and sunshine the strong potential of the acorn is likely to be fulfilled and the acorn will transcend into a grand Oak tree. The Victorians were well acquainted with the symbolism of nature. Acorns represent potential, fertility, strength from within and the power to reach as high as the grasp.
We are always happy to find a pair of bracelets which shows us that they were meaningful to their owner and cared for through so many years. Enlarge this image and the strength of the bracelets will shine. The silver is beautifully turned into an abundance of perfectly textured acorns. Thoughtful craftmanship is apparent. The clasps are more than functional. They are part of the decoration. In the period that these bracelets were made, English silver burst forth into a creative force in the jewelry business. Queen Victoria wore and gave silver jewelry to people she admired. These bracelets are extremely lovely when worn together. Separately, the detail and engraving have character a plenty and can be worn smartly, one on each wrist. When clasped together they form a stunning, edgy necklace in the style of a dog collar. Condition is perfect. Any variation in silver is due to light reflection. Each bracelet measures 7 1/4 in long and is 1 1/4 in high/

Vines encircle a central flower and reach outward to enhance your neckline with the sense of spring's pleasure. Green pastes, brilliantly faceted are a delicious color. Set with open backs, their vivid hue springs forward, while the white pastes set in the leaves soften the effect. The green stones are set in the round, in a kite form and channel cut around the center. The white pastes are round and worked into closed backed silver, as were the settings of gems in Victorian and Georgian jewelry. Excellent Condition

Magnificent and bold silver necklace is curvilinear throughout with typical Margot style. The central section can be interpreted as an abstract bow or butterfly. A leading authority on Mexican Silver believes this to be a piece created for a competition by Margot. The necklace changes form in unique ways. The centerpiece, or bow section, can be separated and worn as a large brooch. (Image 2) In Georgian and Victorian periods, such a piece was known as an stomacher and was fastened above the waist. This same centerpiece, if separated once again, becomes two fluid brooches to be worn as imagination sees them. (image 3) The entire necklace may be fitted for wear just below the neck or lower on the chest by adding or subtracting links provided. This is a one of a kind example of the silver art of Mexico in its time of high creativity. A memorandum by Penny Morrill about this piece is included with the sale.
