Our bracelet, in the gothic style, was created c.1830 and is French or German. In 1806, Napolean stole the iron molds from Germany. He took them to France and demanded that his jewelers make iron jewelry. The war depleted the treasuries of France and of Germany. Both nations asked their wealthy to turn in their gold jewels for iron. Thus proudly, Berlin iron was worn by the upper classes.
