| Georgian garnets, the color of kings and painted by Titian, glow from these earrings of gold from England c.1820. The earrings are typical of the period. The garnets are flat topped and foiled. The earrings are graceful and light with lovely movement. The color is warm enough to emulate a candle's flame. These very ear jewels did, in fact, shine in candle glow. Amazing indeed is the fact that they did not loose their luster, their foiling, their perfect condition. This is a credit to the skill of the foiling technique. The settings for the stones were so expertly accomplished that they enclosed the foil to perfection, thereby keeping out the moisture, and pollutants. In original condition including original ear wires. Modern as now, yet old as the hills, georgian garnets bring to you the warmth and beauty we all crave.
