This is a very rare Cloisonne enamel Incense Burner. It is probably the only one in existence. In fact there are only a handful of cloisonne vases done in this style that are in collections. Though unsigned, it is clearly the work of Hattori or Kawade, both being Meiji Era Imperial artists. It is done in the "Nagare-gusuri" or drip glaze style invented by Kawade Shibataro. Kawade is the one who we believe created this piece. The lustrous enamel is done in rainbow of colors with a predo ...click for details

This is a very attractive and unique Japanese Cloisonne vase. It was made by either Namikawa Sosuke or Hattori Tadasaburo. Both were imperial artists. Though unsigned, it can clearly be seen that the enamel work and style are very distinctive. We have owned and sold a number of vases from Sosuke and know this vase has very sophisticated and delicate shading, common to the work of Sosuke. The wireless Egrets have roundish eyes but this could be because the many egrets are smaller in size than on ...click for details

It stands 7 1/2 inches tall.

This is a very attractive Japanese Cloisonne Vase . The colors are very bright and the subject matter is pleasing. The vase is not signed but was done by one of the top factories in the late Meiji Era. It is 9 3/4 inches tall. Though it looks perfect, there is a small fill on the front that few would ever notice. I have shown it in the last image.
