This is fine Japanese Cloisonne Box. It is larger than most Kyoto boxes and the gold is also in much better shape. The box also does have not hinged lid. It measures 4 7/8 inches across, 4 inches wide, and 2 3/8” tall. The inside bottom is lined with a thin layer ow wood. Condition is very good except for a very minor hit on the lid. See Image.

ota This is a very well done piece, with impeccable detail and enameling. It is a box, measuring 4" by 3 ½". An identical box is featured in the Coben Ferster book on page 99. They identify it as Hayashi Tanigoro, though the mark is somewhat unusual. The central medallion on the top of lid, is the only difference in the boxes. It is a heavy piece, with interior done completely in silver. As we said the enamel work and Cloisonne work is impeccable. Perfect condition.

This is a beautiful Japanese Cloisonne vase by Miwa. The form is very rare. We had a signed pair nearly identical to this vase about two years ago. The enamels and work are wonderful. The sparrows are done with Gold wires. The vase is 9 ¾ tall and much better in person. There is a very short craze line on the back side that is difficult to see. It is shown and magnified in the last image. All the original gold plate on the rims is nearly intact.

This is a very rare Japanese Cloisonne Vase piece from Ando. The quality is very high so it could have been made by Kawade or Gonda. Both of these artists worked fo Ando. The vase is 10 inches tall and 7 ½ inches wide. It displays perfectly but there are some cracks on the underside and in the ½ inch band of green above the bottom rim. They are very hard to see and do not show in the images.

This is a very fine Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The enamel and silver wire work are superb. The beautiful blue ground color is actually brighter than what the images show. The Vase stands 6 inches tall. We think it was made by Gonda or Ota. Condition is outstanding.

This is a wonderful small Japanese Cloisonne vase. The vase is not signed but the vase has a very distinctive style known only to Goto. The piece is very rich in its coloration and just glows. It is in excellent condition with some factory pitting. The vase measures 2 ¾ tall and is 3 inches wide. In the Coben and Ferster book page 79 plate 38 is an image of a Goto vase I used to own. This vase though smaller, has higher quality enameling and wire work.

This is a beautiful early Namikawa Sosuke Vase. It features beautiful Cherry blossom branches against a full moon. The wire and wireless enamel work is outstanding. The enamel is done with soft subtle tones and finished off with high gloss sheen. The vase is heavy and was made before 1895. It stands 12 inches tall. There is what appears to be a factory imperfection on one of the flower petals. A bit of silver wire came out on the outer edge of the petal. It does not look like a hit.
