This is a French Japonism mixed metal bronze box. Attributed to Christofle. The hinged lid and sides are decorated in relief, with exotic birds, amongst flowering branches. Inside is silk lined. It stands on dragon form feet. Outstanding condition, with some slight wear to the patina. This is a beautiful and unique example of Royal Crown Derby. It is a very wide and bulbous vase measuring 7 1/2" wide and 7 1/4" tall. It is handpainted on a brilliant gold ground. The ground is covered in an array of colorful and gold relief flower heads. The top rim is a deep Cobalt with gold comb pattern.
