This is a very well done early Meiji Era Satsuma Vase signed Kinkozan, The intense work is reminiscent to that of Yabu Meizan, Meizan or Seikozan. This is because of the rich and intricate decorations. The vase features a wide band of well done women and children that encircle the wide bottom area of the vase. A tiny wash of gold beading on this ground. It is divided by another band of rich enameled brocade and geometric designs. Further up the vase is a unique gilded ground with scrolling ...click for details

This is an exquisite Japanese Satsuma vase. As fine as any Yabu Meizan piece. It is cylinder in shape, standing 5" tall. Intense rich gold, it literally glows. The top rim has rich colors and gold brocade. Further down are monkeys swinging from gold vines and flower heads. The central area of the vase features children romping and following an adult in a processional ceremony. At the base and foot are bands of brocade and geometric patterns. ota This is a very well done piece, with impeccable detail and enameling. It is a box, measuring 4" by 3 ½". An identical box is featured in the Coben Ferster book on page 99. They identify it as Hayashi Tanigoro, though the mark is somewhat unusual. The central medallion on the top of lid, is the only difference in the boxes. It is a heavy piece, with interior done completely in silver. As we said the enamel work and Cloisonne work is impeccable. Perfect condition.

This is a beautiful Japanese Cloisonne vase by Miwa. The form is very rare. We had a signed pair nearly identical to this vase about two years ago. The enamels and work are wonderful. The sparrows are done with Gold wires. The vase is 9 ¾ tall and much better in person. There is a very short craze line on the back side that is difficult to see. It is shown and magnified in the last image. All the original gold plate on the rims is nearly intact.

This is a wonderful small Japanese Cloisonne vase. The vase is not signed but the vase has a very distinctive style known only to Goto. The piece is very rich in its coloration and just glows. It is in excellent condition with some factory pitting. The vase measures 2 ¾ tall and is 3 inches wide. In the Coben and Ferster book page 79 plate 38 is an image of a Goto vase I used to own. This vase though smaller, has higher quality enameling and wire work.

This is a beautiful early Namikawa Sosuke Vase. It features beautiful Cherry blossom branches against a full moon. The wire and wireless enamel work is outstanding. The enamel is done with soft subtle tones and finished off with high gloss sheen. The vase is heavy and was made before 1895. It stands 12 inches tall. There is what appears to be a factory imperfection on one of the flower petals. A bit of silver wire came out on the outer edge of the petal. It does not look like a hit.
