Exquisite Japanese Cloisonne Vase - Moriage Enamel
This is a stunning, extremely well done Japanese Cloisonne Vase. Unique ground color, is glossy soft brown. In the foreground is a Moriage Peony, branches and leaves. Exquisite enamel work and shading. On the back is a beautiful artistic butterfly. Light taupe counter enamel on the inner top rim, with brown matte counter enamel on the base. The vase stands 9 1/2" tall. Surprisingly, it is not signed, but clearly the work of Ando(Kawade Shibataro) or Hattori. Perfect condition, except for a bit of crazing under the rim.
