Large Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Tray Namikawa Sosuke
This is a beautiful Japanese Cloisonne tray from the Imperial artist Namikawa Sosuke. The tray measures 12 1/4 inches by 10 1/4 inches. It features a bird of paradise in a peach tree. We believe the bird is a Paradise Flycatcher. The tray is made up of a combination of wireless enamel work along with gold and silver wires. It displays wonderfully but has a very hard to see tiny surface flake in one corner and several craze lines deep in the enamel near the center of the tray, again not easy to see.
