| This is a stunning piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is a bowl, by Yabu Meizan. It has outstanding detailed work and enameling. The outside of the bowl is a continuous picturesque scene of the shores of Lake Biwa. Minute work, so detailed, one almost needs magnification to fully appreciate. The scene is finished off at the rim with a detailed colorful band and rich gold. Inside the bowl, more exquisite work. Here the entire inside of the bowl is done in hundreds of tiny, precise butterflies. Signed on the base in a gilt square "Yabu Meizan". Perfect condition. It measures 3 1/8" tall and is 5 1/8" wide.
