| This is a great Japanese Bronze. It is not one of the reproductions that are being seen out there, this is Japanese, very heavy and very detailed, precise work not found on the newer Chinese reproductions. Good old patina on the body of the Koro, the body is encircled with gold masks. Fierce looking and each different, they are to ward off evil spirits. They are wonderful. At the base it stands on unique gold feet and relief decorations. The lid is great with a gold top knob and bronze tassel. Swirling cloud shaped cut-outs. It measures 14" tall and is 9 ½" wide. Great condition. This is a great piece. The piece is not signed but we feel it is quite old because of the High quality of work and the fact that it came from an old estate with many fine Japanese Antiques. | |||||||||
