| This is an outstanding Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Teapot or Sake Pot. The Work and quality is very much like Namikawa Yasuyuki. It is Kyoto work and the enamels and gilding are fabulous. It has a unique fine shape and measures 6" across to the spout. Rich intricate floral scroll rims the spout and top rim area with a wide formal band of foliate scroll at the base. The body is a high gloss black ground as well as the lid. These are decorated with various colorful gold wire kites and scrolls. Delicate gilded leaves are scattered about. Beautifully decorated wide metal handle with ornate gold Chrysanthemum bolts. Large metal Chrysanthemum top knob. Gilded body inside the pot and lid. It is also a very heavy piece. Unsigned, but done very much like many Namikawa pieces. Beautiful condition with the gilding still in great condition. There is an area on the lid that has a hairline. This is very difficult to see without magnification. | ||||||||
