| This is a beautiful Japanese satsuma piece from the Meiji era. It is done by one of the finest artists of that Era, "Ryozan". It features superb enamel work, gold work and painting. The lid on the teapot is designed with richly gilded brocade and geometric designs. There are two different scenes one with children and women on one side with rich enameled Cherry trees with gold centers, gold thatched houses and rock formations. The other panel is breathtaking with Hibiscus in yellow tones, with gold centers, grasses, and daises. Intricate gold scrolling spout and underside. The teapot measures 5 1/2" tall and 7 inches across. Signed on the base with the Ryozan mark. This is a fabulous piece in excellent condition with only some very slight wear, and some slight discoloration. | |||||||||||||
