Beautiful Large Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase
This is a large in sized and very superb Japanese Cloisonne Vase. Using both silver and gold wire, it is probably the work of Hayashi. The vase measures 12 1/4" tall and has an elegant shape. High gloss midnight blue ground is decorated with silver wire and fine enameled Bamboo stalks. The wires are in varying thickness and great shading used throughout. Perched and flying amongst the tall stalks of Bamboo are 6 very well executed GOLD wire sparrows. Below the stalks of Bamboo are tiny Daisies and leaves. Several stalks of Bamboo on the backside. A Very very intricate formal foliate scroll encased in a shield type design at the base, along with tiny circular shaped scrolls at the neck. Unique brown mottled counter enamel on the very base. Impressed into the bottom silver rim is the jun-gin mark. Condition is outstanding on this exceptional piece.
