Very Fine Japanese Satsuma Vase - Kinkozan
This is a very lovely and well done Japanese Satsuma Vase from the Meiji Era. The vase features two large panels front and back. One encases an outdoor scene with rich enameled cascading Wisteria and vines. These cascade down amongst mountains, flying birds, water scenes, Iris and colorful Daisies. Touches of gold beads on the florals and Wisteria. A fine wash of gold beading on each panel. The other large panel is an outdoor scene with Asian ladies and children. Rich and colorful robes trimmed heavily in gold. Pine boughs with gold trim and beautiful florals and mountains in this scene. Gold bridges, and gold adornments in their hair. These scenes are exquisite. They are divided by Cobalt ground heavily decorated with thick gold and silver flower mons and scrolling vines. The panels are encased by gold Greek Fret pattern. The vase is signed with worn mark kinkozan mark it stands 6 1/4" tall. Condition is very good on this fine piece with only some wear to the gold top rim and some slight wear to the fine gold wash. This is a beautiful piece of Meiji Era Satsuma.
