Extraordinary Japanese Cloisonne Vase - Moriage Enamel
This is one of the finest moriage koi vases ever made. We know of only know of one other moriage fish vase that could be considered this good or better. It sold for a six figure amount. This vase was done by Gonda and may very well be his best work. Gold wires were used in the Moriage koi. The subtle wireless work is fabulous. The vase is very large standing 14 ½ inches tall and 9 ¼ inches wide. To give you a better idea on the size, it appears that it could hold over 2 gallons of water. There is an enamel bruise that can be seen in the 10th image to the right of the wireless koi.
