| A lovely black transferware plate with the pattern of the View of the Canal, Little Falls: Mohawk River made by Job & John Jackson, Burslem, Staffordshire, circa 1831 - 1835. This plate is part of the American Scenery Series based on the drawing by William Wall. This view shows the Aqueduct Bridge construction to carry the Erie Canal over the Mohawk River at Little Falls. The Mohawk river is a tributary of the Hudson River. Measures 10 3/8" diameter. Plate is in very good condition; has 1 chip on the bottom rim, some light crazing and the edge has some roughness in the glaze from mfg. Backstamp has the Jackson's Warranted mark. | ||
