Gold, silver and color makie on the Yakigiri, the surace of the Kiri-wood or paulownia-wood is burned with fire. The interior is lacquered with Negoro style, the underlayer of black lacquer showing through the red outerlayer in random. This Suzuribako is in sets with Suzuri (ink stone) and copper Suiteki (water dropper). Mid Showa era (1926-1988). Measurements about : 9 5/8" (24.3cm) by 6 3/8" (16cm) and 1 3/8" (3.5cm) tall. This incense case has carved and lacquered designs, bat motif on the cover and Reishi or Ganogerma Lucidum motif on the bottom. There is an artist mark "Zokoku" with lacquer on the bottom. Tamakaji Zokoku (1806-1869) is known as father of Sanuki (Kagawa) lacquer art. It is in good condition with bald lacquer of design on the bottom. Measurements about : 1 1/8" (3cm) tall and 3" (7.5cm) in diameter. Comes with original wooden box.

This mordern round flower vase with mesh design by Minoru Nishikawa (1929-), in Kyoto. He has be accepted the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) many times and received a number of awards. Artist sign "Minoru" on the bottom. Measurements: 7 1/2" (19 cm) tall and 8 7/8" (22.5 cm) in diameter. It is in perfect condition and comes with original signed and stamped wooden box.
