Large dragon headed turtle is carved from single piece of wood. It would appear that it is originally a Myoken- Bosatsu, buddha image, ride. (standing on his back.) Myoken-Bosatsu is the deity of the Polestar. Measurements about: 20 7/8" (53cm) by 10 5/8" (27cm) and 7 7/8" (20cm) tall. The surface is discolored. |
