Fantastic early 20th century double-sided silk embroidered bag with a super marcasite and carnelian (either stone or glass) Art Deco clasp. The front features a pair of lovers in a picturesque landscape; he is offering her a flower while a little boy spies on them behind a column. The reverse features knots of flowers. A wonderful 1830's ladies' reticule with a little bit of everything! The purse is fashioned of cream satin and decorated with chain stitched floral embroidery, moss green and dusky pink velvet bands , gold metallic lace, spangles, and beads. The best part is a flip down bottom which hides a mirror within. Green silk lining. There is shattering to the cream silk, especially on the sides. 7” by 7”.
Beautiful antique beaded child’s cap with green silk lining, possibly Turkish. The abstract beadwork motifs are bright; the edging is couched in metallic thread. Excellent condition.
Gorgeous 19th century antique canvas work notebook, featuring a young man sitting in contemplation outside of a cottage; the reverse features a folly and fountain landscape. The silk needlework is bright and beautiful; each panel is edged in ribbon. Pink silk lining and pockets reveals faded writing underneath and two note tucked inside. Interesting antique beaded reticule, featuring a Maltese cross motif. The field is worked in blue beads, the cross in clear, a diagonal grid is worked in black. White silk lining. The clear loop fringe reaches all the way around. Very good condition; two fringe loops lacking; some bead loss near header. Measures 6 1/4” including fringe.
