This is a truly wonderful little early 19th century beaded coin purse. The front depicts a man fishing by a stream; there’s a vase of flowers on the reverse. The body of the bag is worked in golden yellow, and the beadwork for the designs is intricate and colorful. Great condition; a few bead missing at the bottom edges. Lovely gilt frame and chain. Purse measures 4 1/2”.

Fabulous 19th century beaded figural purse, featuring a cavalier in an interior setting. The cavalier is depicted in a plumed hat, sword, and colorful clothing. He stands in the middle of a beautifully detailed room, with red and white tiled floor, chair, swag curtain and table with a meal laid out. Beautiful red loop fringe. Diminutive early 19th century beaded reticule, depicting a gazebo. Clear beaded body, with a graceful greenery-draped gazebo or monument in the center section. The bottom section is blue with pink flowers. The top section features a narrow pink border with black zigzag pattern, surmounted by a maroon silk header. Bead loss and repairs as pictured; silk is stiff and shattered in places. Measures 5” by 3”.

The header is floral, with yellow, pink and blue flowers on one side, and yellow, blue and black flowers on the other. The bottom section features blue flowers on one side and a tiny blue flower on the other, surmounting Sarah’s name in gold beads. Excellent condition; a bead missing here or there.
