Charming late 18th century handpainted enameled copper portrait snuff or patch box. The oval box features a woman in a white dress and blue cloak, reclining under a tree and petting a lamb. English or French. Fair condition; lid has a crack; there’s moderate crazing; and the mirror is losing it’s silver. Measures 1 ¾ by 1 ¼”.
Terrific turn-of-the-18th century enamel patch box, probably Bilston. It features a wonderful humorous motto: “Fear God/and honor the King/Kiss a pretty Girl/That’s no sin.” Very good condition; minimal crazing, staining or cracking. Measures 1 1/4” long by 1” wide by 7/8” high.
