Adorable antique brooch in enamel on 18k gold, featuring the head of a spaniel with a collar set with four diamonds! The spaniel is beautifully rendered: his eyes are bright and alert! Measures ¾”. Very good condition; a few tiny scratches to surface.

A wonderful example of mourning jewelry, this 14k gold and black enamel hair pin features an “X” of blond hair, with gathered in a neat knot in the center, laid over a “mat” of brown hair. Simple and beautiful, it’s engraved “A. E. H.” on the reverse. Excellent condition; pin and clasp may have been replaced long ago. Measures 1 5/16” by 1 1/16”.

Incredible piece of mid 19th century sentimental hair jewelry, probably intended to commemorate the birth of three children, featuring three enameled lockets on a snake chain, all in 18k gold. The three padlock lockets are engraved front and back and enameled on the front with green leaves; they are suspended from a modified figure eight – the symbol for eternity – which flows into the flexible chain. Rare mourning ring featuring fine table-work braided hair joined by a gold centerpiece depicting clasped hands, circa 1850-1860. A similar ring is displayed in C. Jeanenne Bell’s 1998 Collector’s Encyclopedia of Hairwork Jewelry. Piece is in mint condition. Initials on back appear to be “CL”. Size is approximately 10 1/2.

Rare Georgian portrait miniature of a young girl, painted on fabric, stitched with hair, and set into a lovely gold brooch frame bordered by delicate seed pearls. The girl is beautifully painted on some sort of silk or cotton weave. Absolutely perfect 19th century gutta percha and 14k gold earrings, in the form of a buckle within a circle. The “buckle” features gold stripes and studs. I don’t think that these were ever worn – they are mint, and look great on! Original 14k gold kidney wires. Measure 1 ¼”.
