Gilt metal art nouveau ring featuring a lion’s head with ruby colored eyes, holding a diamond paste stone in its mouth. These rings were very popular in gold and precious stones – this is the everyday version! The lion’s mane extends to the shoulders. Good condition; wear to gilt overall. Ring size 9 1/4.

Elegant late 19th century cut steel shoe buckles marked “L W Paris”. Bar back. Cut steel jewelry was meant to simulate diamonds; the “stones” were faceted polished steel. Each “stone” had a post in the back which was inserted into a metal base to form a multitude of designs. These buckles are very nicely made; with cut steel, the more facets the better, and these studs have twelve. Amazing antique shakudo parure, comprising a necklace, earrings and ring. Shakudo is the Japanese art of mixed metals, originally used to decorate weapons and armor.
