Lovely all-original Victorian malachite leaf earrings set in silver. One leaf is variegated and veined; one is solid and darker. See a similar pair in Dawes/Davidov’s “Victorian Jewelry”, page 73. Measure 1 1/4” from top of hook to bottom of leaf. Leaf itself is 3/4”, excluding bail.

Beautiful early 19th century watercolor mourning miniature set into a cut steel beaded buckle. The scene depicts a lady spreading flowers over a tomb. Some oxidation to white paint; water stain over her shoulders; and a split to buckle at nine o’clock. Paper backing. Measures 3 1/2” by 2 3/4”.

Superb and unusual enameled three dimensional Austro-Hungarian pendant, in the form of an ostrich. Ostriches were a symbol of faith and were often depicted in heraldry. Dating from the late 19th to the turn of the century, Austro Hungarian jewelry is often called neo-Renaissance as it copies the ornate styles of that time. Rare Wedgwood and Bentley jasper cameo silver mounted ring, circa 1779, depicting a gentleman in profile. The oval pale blue medallion is layered with white between the black ground surface upon which the profile sits. The reverse is inscribed “Wedgwood x Bentley”, a mark used from 1769-1780, when Josiah Wedgwood partnered with Thomas Bentley to establish a factory named 'Etruria' for making ornamental wares. HOLD 

Beautiful large 19th century Shakudo ring set in silver. Shakudo refers to the metal alloy forming the base of the set, probably a small percentage of gold mixed with copper. This kind of metal work was employed by Japanese sword makers; when the samurai era ended in the late 1870’s, many sword makers began to make jewelry, often for the western market.
