What makes this piece so fascinating is the enamel work – it’s drawn in blue, with black and white accents -- on a bright PINK ground! A wonderful, distinctive piece! Measures 1 ˝”. Glorious, brilliantly colored enamel and openwork sterling brooch in the form of a peacock, circa 1910. The vivid colors and intense sheen are perfect for depicting the beautiful bird; his abdomen is a deep blue; the feathers are blue and red set against a green ground which changes to gold at the edges.
