Early 19th century portrait miniature in watercolor on ivory depicting a gentleman in a 9k gold pendant frame. The sitter has fashionably disheveled short brown hair and piercing blue eyes, and wears a black coat over a white vest and cravat. The reverse features a curl of brown hair with a foil surround, which may have been the backing to some colored glass now absent. Painting is in excellent condition as is reverse; just a little gapping at the edges. Measures 2 3/4” by 2 1/4”.
