Early 19th century portrait miniature in watercolor on ivory depicting a gentleman in a 9k gold pendant frame. The sitter has fashionably disheveled short brown hair and piercing blue eyes, and wears a black coat over a white vest and cravat. The reverse features a curl of brown hair with a foil surround, which may have been the backing to some colored glass now absent. Painting is in excellent condition as is reverse; just a little gapping at the edges. Measures 2 3/4” by 2 1/4”.

The sitter is a handsome curly red-haired gent, with a high white collar and cravat, and black coat. He’s set in half of a red leather traveling case.
