Classic 19th century coral bead necklace, possibly intended for a child. The beads would fit an adult as a choker; they are natural and undyed and display the original clasp. Coral was often worn by children, as their parents believed it to have protective powers. Excellent condition. Measures 14 1/4” long.

Fabulous blue mid 19th century cameo, depicting the Cupid Vendor, after a fresco in Pompeii. The vendor is lifting a cupid from a cage, and offering the love token to her female customer. The cameo is a startling blue, probably a lava and composite mix. Beautiful beaded setting. Some dirt and chips to edges of cameo and losses to beading. Measures 1 5/8” by 1 1/2”.

Beautiful early Battersea enamel earrings, depicting cherubs conducting music with a baton. Each cherub is a little different; they’re in great condition. Probably converted to earrings at one time (there’s solder on the backs); may have originally been buttons. Rope twist border. Measure 1 1/4” from the top of the wire.

Very pretty mourning miniature on ivory, featuring a landscape in watercolor and hair, probably German or Swiss. The scene is a cemetery; a tomb -- with an anchor leaning against it – reads “Erinnerang” (in memory of). The trees and grass are delicately formed of hair. Very good condition. An unusual, beautiful piece of early Victorian sentimental jewelry, featuring a greyhound (probably made of sulfide) laid over woven hair and set into a traditional mourning-style broach. Inscribed on the reverse: “Mr C J Lewis/from Eleanor/December 1845” (the middle initial may be an “I” or a “T”). Very good condition; some wear to greyhound, chipto upper left corner of glass, and old repair to c clasp. Measures 1 1/16” by 7/8”.
