| Absolutely gorgeous 19th century figural micro beaded purse, made of the finest beads, depicting two lovers in a landscape with gazebo. She wears a pinks dress with blue overdress; he sports a vest, frock coat and knee breeches – you can even see the buckles on his shoes! In the background are trees and a gazebo; in the foreground flowers and an old split rail fence! The same pattern is featured on the reverse. The frame is outstanding: carnelian cabochons are set into the clasp and frame, interspersed with wonderful green white and black enameled flowers; the back of the frame is unadorned, engraved with a pretty abstract floral pattern. Fringe is intact and perfect; excellent steel blue silk lining is probably a replacement. The only flaw in the superb purse is one repair on the back near the bottom, center. A 1 1/.2” section of beads must have been damaged and has been backed with a green fabric that blends quite well – (see close up photo). Despite this one flaw, the purse is lush and beautiful; everything else is perfect! Measures 11 ¾” from clasp to fringe; 7 ¾” wide. | |||||||||||
