| Fabulous early 19th century dragee (sugar coated sweets) box with fabulous village landscape constructed of human hair. The scene is surrounded by gilt scroll and scallop motifs in gold. Box is made of heavy board or card, trimmed in gilt metal, topped with glass, and sided with green foil. Hairwork is in excellent condition. Box condition is good: wear to foil and foxing to bottom, all consistent with age. Measures 2 3/8” in diameter. | |||||||
