| A charming French silkwork picture depicting a young man and woman by a church, before a hill-top town, dated 1828. The faces and sky are painted in watercolor; below, inscribed in silk stitching reads "Charlet et Mariane de Peinin, par Louise Goux, Le 30 Mai 1828”. A wonderful, detailed scene, including a barge being pulled by two men, and a dog! Mounted in a glazed gilt wood frame, measuring 18 ½” by 15”. Excellent condition; shadows and glare are from the camera! | ||||||||
