| A phenomenal, early example of mourning hair work, featuring a landscape in blond and brown hair, set into a heart shaped silver brooch and surrounded by eighteen gorgeous table cut diamonds. Probably dating to 1780 (or possibly a little earlier) the scene is incredibly detailed, depicting an urn, tree, windmill, house and boat. The reverse is fabulous, featuring a beautiful glazed compartment containing blondish brown hair. Wonderful condition; long ago it was converted from a pendant to a brooch, but it was beautifully done. Measures 1” by 7/8”. | |||||
