| American school portrait miniature in watercolor on ivory of a lady, circa 1785. The lady wears a mauve dress with a white fichu and a black ribbon choker. Her hair is powdered, with sausage curls at the base and lying on her shoulders. Beautiful original frame with bright work border. Very good condition, though there’s possible fading to her face, leaving it a bit blue. There’s a label on the reverse attributing the painting to John Ramage – while it’s the right period, it’s not a Ramage! Measures 1 7/8”. | |||||
