| Gorgeous Victorian white lava cameo brooch, featuring a Bacchante, a priestess of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, set in a gold frame. Pompeii was a popular destination for Victorian travelers, and many brought back lava souvenirs. This cameo is beautifully carved, with leaves and grapes twined into the Bacchante’s hair. Condition is excellent; some old repairs to reverse. Measures 1 1/2” high by 1 1/4” wide. | |||||
