| An unusual, beautiful piece of early Victorian sentimental jewelry, featuring a greyhound (probably made of sulfide) laid over woven hair and set into a traditional mourning-style broach. Inscribed on the reverse: “Mr C J Lewis/from Eleanor/December 1845” (the middle initial may be an “I” or a “T”). Very good condition; some wear to greyhound, chipto upper left corner of glass, and old repair to c clasp. Measures 1 1/16” by 7/8”. | |||||
