| Fabulous all original Georgian flat cut garnet luckenbooth, or witches heart, set in silver. A luckenbooth is a heart-shaped love token named after the Luckenbooths, or locked booths, where they were sold, in the Royal Mile near St. Giles Kirk in Edinburgh. The pins were exchanged by lovers at betrothal and later pinned to the first-born's shawl to protect it from evil spirits. Measures 3/4”. | |||||
