$1250.00

This is an excellent example of Art Nouveau design at its best! A sinuous, flowing young lady, floating in a Turn of the Century glass panel. The measurements are 59 3/4" in height by 16 1/2" in width. The glass, in excellent condition, was reframed in an oak frame some forty years ago, while the actual panel dates from c. 1910 or even earlier. One is reminded of the figures and designs by Mucha which must have inspired panels like this.

$195.00

This is a striking piece of metalwork, although exactly how it is made is somewhat of a mystery. There is a gilded and embossed Art Nouveau feeling leaves and flowers, superimposed upon what I think is iron. The entire, piece which is a straight-edge and a page cutter (for cutting unseparated quarto or octavo pages, etc., in a printed book), measures 11 7/8" in length. On the center of the front is the coat of arms of Sweeden. Although the piece shows wear, the condition is good, and the d ...click for details

It is stunning that although each of these lion bookends is hand-carved in wood (I think oak) and are not molded or cast. Each depicts the "Lion of Lucerne" which commemorates the death of Swiss soldiers guarding Marie Antionette in 1792. The sculpture by Bertel Thorwaldsen was unveiled in 1822, and has been the continuing subject of artists ever since, making a highly appropriate souvenir of Switzerland. Measuring 7 1/2" long and 5" high, these carved bookends (weighted for ...click for details

Although I can't find this pattern in any of the Gien resource books, it is strikingly and beautifully decorated. The Romanesque or Renaissiance Revival swirls are punctuated with the typical satyr heads on each side, and all perch on the matching underplate. The piece is in very fine condition, and both pieces are marked with a painted "Gien", and manufactured by that company in France. The cache pot measures 10" inside diameter, and 8 1/4" in height. This French, signed "Galle" (in the impressionistic twist of the letters), art pottery vase shows the strong Art Nouveau influence of the french school of decoration. The condition of the c. 1900 piece is excellent, with only the expected crazing, but virtually no wear on the inside. It measures 6 1/2" high by 9" in diameter. France, c. 1900
