Measuring 9 1/2" high with its stopper, this is a charming French, c. 1870 perfume bottle. The blue enamel, and gold highlight decoration is obviously done by hand, while the figural insert, a bit kitchy at that, is done with a transfer print on a while background. The effect is light and pleasing, and all in excellent condition. The caption on the decoration, "La tartine", seems to refer to the child whose goose is about to eat a tiny cake.
