This is a striking piece of metalwork, although exactly how it is made is somewhat of a mystery. There is a gilded and embossed Art Nouveau feeling leaves and flowers, superimposed upon what I think is iron. The entire, piece which is a straight-edge and a page cutter (for cutting unseparated quarto or octavo pages, etc., in a printed book), measures 11 7/8" in length. On the center of the front is the coat of arms of Sweeden. Although the piece shows wear, the condition is good, and the d ...click for details
These dozen (in my experience) unique seafood forks are in a pattern of sterling silver flatware I cannot find information on. Not a standard pattern, so perhaps they were a special order, each bears the Gorham mark, sterling, and at the top of the handle, the number "34". Each fork measures 5 5/8" in length, and is in excellent condition. There appears to be Euterpe, the Muse of music, on the top of the handle, and a pastiche of Neo-classical decorations down the length of the ha ...click for details
Here is a custom-made Tiffany & Co. sterling silver wine coaster measuring 4 3/4" across and 1 1/4" high. It has a mahogany base, and the sterling silver frame encloses six dies used for stationery on the yacht Viking (at least that is my theory). It dates from the era of John C Moore II, and is in excellent condition with only the slightest bend on the edge.
This three-piece youth set, by the premium designer, Unger Brothers, dates from the turn of the 19th - 29th centuries. The longest piece, the knife, measures 7 1/4" in length. The three pieces show ware, but are in very good condition. American, c. 1900.

This tiny bucket, probably Dutch in origin, measures 1 1/4" in height (without handle), and 2" from base to top of handle. The frieze around the sides bears a side portrait of a man's head above a rather fanciful winged cherub or angel's head. The base bears a mark "HH". The piece is .800 silver, and dates from c. 1870.
This charming bronze seal or tamp of a young girl measures 2 3/4"in height, and stands on a rounded plinth, which was a seal or a pipe tamp, likely the former. It is beautifully cast and detailed, has a rich patination, is in excellent condition, and dates from the turn of the 19th-20th Centuries.
This inkstand, so typical of British Nineteenth Century brass work, consists of a base, measuring 6" x 3 1/4" , with a "doghouse" inkwell (the roof/lid lifts to reveal the well. A dog stands in front of the doghouse. There is fine engraving on the roof of the doghouse, and the whole stands on padded round feet. In very good condition with good patina.
Each antique should have a story; this is the story I have created for this one.

This Dore bronze roman soldier bust measures 6 3/4" high, and 2 5/8" wide. He appears to have originally been mounted somewhere. But he is alive and vital enough, and looks, as I glance at him now, as though he may have marched right off of Trajan's column, ready for a date with a nubile Ptolemaic princess. He is in great condition, although he could, perhaps, stand a cleaning.
Well executed with sharp, repousse features, this miniature silver toby jug measures 2 1/4" in height. It has a sharp, chiseled, applied handle. It is in excellent condition and dates front he last years of the 19th Century. It bears Dutch or German hallmarks.
