Was it for communion? Was it meant as a souvenir? It beats me. But here I have an enamel beaker with the Last Supper on the side. The beaker measures 4 3/4" high, and 4 1/2" in diameter at the mouth. There is some enamel loss to the rim, and a chip on the base. Obviously, this has been used and enjoyed. A friend brought this item back from a trip to North Africa several years ago.

Whimsy takes on a new dimension with the German Jack-in-the-box dating from the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century in Germany. Measuring approximately 13" in diameter, this carving executed in wild black cherry, (artist has helpfully identified each wood type used with a paper sticker!) is hunting dog named "Dusty" on a brass plaque. The piece is realistic and skillfully executed, yet with a folk-art charm. In excellent condition. It is signed "Dale" and dated Feb '87, although I have been able to find nothing about the artist. It has a hanger attached so that it may be hung up.
