Measuring 9 1/4" high, and 7 1/2" wide, this carving executed in black walnut, on a pin oak base (artist has helpfully identified each wood type used with a paper sticker!) is a brown bear holding a fish he has caught. The piece is realistic and skillfully executed, yet with a folk-art charm. In excellent condition, with only a crack in the walnut (shown in detail).
