This brilliant ruby glass pair of master salts are likely English in origin. Each measures 2 3/4" in height, and 2 3/4" in diameter. On the side of each bowl is a lion rampant, likely some baronial crest. Each is in excellent condition with a pommel on the base indicating that they were blown. England, c. 1840.
This unusual piece of purple slag glass stands 6 3/4" high and is 3 1/4" diameter at the base. Three footed swans support a flaring rim. This is possibly Sowerby, although it is unmarked. There is one tiny flake on the bill of one of the beak of one swan, otherwise, the condition is excellent. Discoloration around the feet simply means that this piece should have had a bath before it was photographed!
