| This stunning piece of hand-potted, and glazed signed Americana, is a lively interpretation of none other than the classic Uncle Sam. The glazes which are themselves spirited colors and applications lend a sophisticated finess to this handsome piece. Made of a yellow-terra cotta clay, the color of the biscuit bleeds through the glaze in a few spots. The face is serious and striking. The hat is over-brimmed with stars. The markings on the bottom state "Designed by D. Clemini potted by DeBerg". The piece measures 5" x 5", and is in excellent condition. I feel that this probably dates from the Second World War era. | |||||||||
